Who Taught You to Hide?

"Perhaps the parts of yourself you've hidden are the very parts waiting to bring you home."
Nobody begins life hiding who they are.
As children, we laugh loudly.
We cry freely.
We dance without wondering who's watching.
We ask impossible questions.
We express joy, anger, curiosity and wonder without stopping to ask whether they're appropriate.
Then, little by little, life teaches us something different.
"Don't cry."
"Be good."
"Don't be so sensitive."
"Stop showing off."
"People will judge you."
"That's not how boys behave."
"Nice girls don't do that."
Most of these messages aren't spoken with cruelty.
They're offered by people doing their best, often repeating what they themselves were taught.
And so we learn.
We hide our tears.
Our fears.
Our dreams.
Our tenderness.
Our anger.
Our creativity.
The parts of ourselves that once flowed naturally become carefully folded away, replaced by the version of ourselves we believe will be accepted.
Hiding becomes so familiar that we stop noticing we're doing it.
Until one day we catch ourselves wondering why we feel disconnected.
Why we feel unseen.
Why something essential seems to be missing.
At The Naked Frog, we don't ask you to uncover every hidden part of yourself all at once.
Real transformation isn't about exposing yourself to the world.
It's about creating a space where you no longer need to hide from yourself.
Because the masks we wear to protect ourselves are not signs of weakness.
They are signs that, at some point, hiding felt safer than being seen.
The work is not to judge those masks.
The work is to thank them for the protection they once offered... and gently discover whether they're still needed today.
Perhaps the person you've been searching for isn't hidden somewhere far away.
Perhaps they're quietly waiting behind the parts of you that learned it was safer to disappear.
