What If You've Forgotten Who You Are?

"Perhaps you don't need to become someone new. Perhaps you simply need to remember."
Many of us spend our lives searching for ourselves.
We search through careers.
Relationships.
Achievements.
Experiences.
Books.
Teachers.
Retreats.
Always hoping that somewhere, someone or something will finally reveal who we are meant to be.
But what if we've been searching in the wrong direction?
What if the person you're looking for has never been missing?
What if they've simply been hidden beneath years of expectation, adaptation and survival?
As children, we rarely question who we are.
We laugh without wondering if it's appropriate.
We cry without apologising.
We are curious without needing permission.
We express ourselves before we learn which parts of ourselves are acceptable and which should be hidden.
Then life happens.
We learn to fit in.
To succeed.
To protect ourselves.
To become the person the world seems to reward.
None of this is wrong.
In many ways, it helps us navigate life.
But sometimes, in becoming everything we thought we needed to be, we slowly lose touch with the person we already were.
At The Naked Frog, we don't believe your true self needs to be invented.
We believe it is already there.
Not perfect.
Not finished.
Not without scars.
But real.
The work isn't about creating a new identity.
It's about gently peeling away the layers that no longer belong until what has always been there can breathe again.
Remembering isn't an act of thinking.
It's an act of recognising.
Perhaps that's why moments of genuine connection, silence, ceremony or deep reflection can feel strangely familiar.
Not because they give you something new.
But because they remind you of something you had forgotten.
A Question to Carry With You
